The practice of self quarantine for 14 days by people suspected of being exposed to the virus is unreliable. The authorities should impose its own quarantine by isolating such people for 14 days in its own government set-up accommodation for it to be truly effective.

Controlling the road doesn't make sense. 1 person can drive 1 car also doesn't make sense. When there are 200 people in supermarket. They should control the supermarket capacity instead. Maximum 20-30 people at a time. This government is really stupid. So inefficient to do road block.

It appears that the government of Malaysia is trying to make restitution for its past bungle by appearing to do all the right things to counter covid-19 and in the process had gone overboard with extreme and uncalled for measures. The Movement Control Order (MCO) recently declared by the current PM, as one of the means to control trans- mission of the virus has reached a point where basic human rights are being interfered with. Where interference with public activities has nothing to do with containment of the current pandemic. The government is now taking extreme steps in curbing social distancing to the point where one is even restricted from taking a walk in the park for exercise and healthy pursuits. If one is even forbidden to leave home for that, or even to buy food, this is a very clear case of human rights infringement. When a lawful resident like the good doctor in Penang is prevented by a uniformed civil officer for taking an exercising walk in the park it becomes a case of interference of a lawful personal pursuit. If such a lawful pursuit is threatened with enforced civil imprisonment or a fine it is tantamount to a human rights abuse. Persistence by the government in this direction may be regarded as making the country a police state unless there are reasons to declare emergency rule in the country. All these inconveniences imposed on the people although understandably not without merits cannot be used as an effective weapon to contain the spread of covid-19. It is a good time as any to teach these overzealous but ignorant officers that a lone person taking a walk is not breaking the social distancing law. He has hardly anyone to transmit anything to, let alone an elusive virus. Rather than deploying army and police personnel to carry out static control measures like roadblocks, ID checks and preventing healthy pursuits, the authorities should be more proactive in locating and searching known places or communities of possible carriers. The prime questions citizens are still asking are (1) Why was an extremely large public gathering allowed at a time when the covid-19 epidemic had already become pandemic? (2) Why was immediate action for tracing all attendees for compulsory testing not done when the first few cases of infection from this gathering came to light? By compulsory testing is meant ENFORCED testing of every Malaysian in that public gathering instead of allowing it on voluntary basis when only less than half the number of attendees volunteered. Even if it was not possible to carry out testing in such large numbers as those at the public gathering the authorities should have recorded the addresses or contact details of those who refused to take the test from the volunteers. It might be easier said than done but then we are facing a pernicious pandemic, not any curable disease. If the govern- ment shirks its duty of helping ALL Malaysians than they are there in vain. There is no easy way to overcome a difficult situation. It has now become public knowledge that most, if not all, of those who have not been tested to date are illegal immigrants or visitors. If these illegal carriers are still wandering around the country blissfully infecting other Malaysians the spread will exponentially increase and the country will face a total lockdown as has happened in many widely infected countries.

My aunt who had contact with a Malay who did not reported his contact, and she is in the ER now.
I am not being racist but I just want to say that being alive is much more important than praying.
So, try to be smart for once maybe?

Some iman say, leave it to God. If you want to leave it to God then dont go to hospital or see doctor when you sick. Stay at home and wait for God to give you medicine and MC. God gave you a brain. Use that brain. Not using that brain is the greatest sin to God. So to all religious leaders, THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK.
