Maya 2017 includes updates for Bifrost that include the Bifrost Ocean Simulation System (BOSS), which lets you create realistic ocean surfaces with waves, ripples, and wakes. Other updates include improvements to guided liquid simulations, foam improvements, and more.

gua minta tutorial goblok bukan show off
Would love to find out how to create this!!! Thank you!!! (Re: as the others said, TUTORIAL PLEASE)
this was render in? Mental Ray? Arnold?
Is this an inbuilt thing or another plugin in… if so there are many like it
They havent made a proper tutorial of this very scene because you need a Military grade render farm in order to generate the foam. You can make the ocean itself rather easy enough, even the water displacement, But Bifrost Particle effects to generate the foam is virtually unusable, because its CRAZY SLOW!!!. not to mention, what you see is a layered effect, The ocean is one rendered layered and the foam another and its not easy in comp to mix the two. I've switched to max and PhoenixFD which is properly fast and looks just as good if not better. And doesnt deal with the dumb comping issues.
Maya is great now
I m glad maya could do super amazing vfx too! But houdini is the real best for vfx creation!
Is this in Maya or is it an extension? (Please answer)
Bifrost or Phoenix FD?
Can I achieve this with no serious lag with 8 gb gtx1080 hybrid ? (I am not using quadro because lack of money)
Can you please share some knowledge Autodesk!? Tutorials, guides, example scenes…SOMETHING!
I love 21st century.
i wish to know the scale they are using. like this ocean plane looks infinit , did they use very huge plane to create this ripples or there is another technique for that?
So how about releasing a tutorial or sample scene file for this simulation? Otherwise, this video is totally unhelpful [and actually misleading] – I'll be looking into Houdini's Ocean capabilities instead now. Autodesk, what are you doing?!
Create a tutorial Autodesk ; instead of Showing off
wow… I'm actually impressed :F
I've been trying to make an endless ocean like in the upper left corner of 0:28 for months but i cant figure out how. anyone wanna share the parameters, geo resolution, and scale? no matter what i do i get only OK results, nothing great.
Thanks for any help 🙂
how do you make the ocean to look endless?
can anyone explain how to do the ocean infinite. i mean blend the simulated region with another displacement movement that extends to infinity looking like an endless ocean on the camera.
My system is chocking and can't playback nicely in Bifrost in Maya 2017 update 1 and 2 . Any Idea ?
Dang, Home made animations are getting better and better.
i can't find any tutorial on autodesk maya 2015 bifrost on how to create and render this boat wake scene! I want to render out just the boat and the foams with the additional splashes made by the boat. I don't want to render an entire ocean. I want to be able to put the rendered sequence with the alpha and overlay on a real existing ocean! Is this possible coz i know it will be! Any one else know how to make this tutorial please let me know!
How did you create that infinite ocean look ?
I would have preferred Aero updates instead but well…
